The Upper Peninsula’s unemployment rate fell to 4.3 percent in September, down from 4.8 percent in August, but remains the same (percentage-wise) as it was in September of 2021. The Michigan Department of Technology and Budget estimates that there are 5,800 unemployed people in the U.P., which is roughly 100 more people than in September of 2021.

A popular restaurant in Au Train has new owners after more than three decades. Known for its eclectic atmosphere and a menu that features local ingredients, Deb Molitor and Jeff Van Bremen recently sold the Brownstone Inn to Tom and Ana Dolaskie of Munising.
