Winter parking ban in effect The City of Munising’s winter parking ban started on Tuesday, Nov. 15 and will run through April 15 based on snow plowing needs.The ban prevents vehicles from being parked on any city street between 3 a.m.-6 a.m.

Battle of unbeatens set for Mustang Stadium

The Munising Mustangs (9-0) will be hosting their third playoff game of the season in a battle of two unbeaten teams, as downstate Merrill on Saturday, November 12 at 2 p.m.. Broadcasts will be provided by 97.7 WQXO for the Munising coverage. All online video broadcasts are through the NFHS Network app or website.

Sadowski found guilty in first degree

After a three-year wait and an 11day jury trial, Jason David Sadowski was found guilty of murder in the first degree on Monday, November 7.The victim wasTimothy Mozader, Sadowski’s tenant and roommate. Mozader died on May 30, 2019.

The Lake Superior State hockey program (1-6-1, 0-20 CCHA) fell to the Northern Michigan Wildcats (7-5-0, 3-1-0 CCHA) by a final score of 5-3 on Saturday. Both teams opened the contest feeling each other out with multiple saves from each goaltender, but the Lakers were able to strike first with a strike from sophomore forward Timo Bakos (Augsburg, Germany) after being set up by Joshua Wildauer (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) and Benito Posa (Flint, Mich.) midway through the opening period.

The Bay College Norse Volleyball Team (11-16, 3-7) opened postseason play on Thursday evening at the 2022 NJCAA Division II Great Lakes District B Tournament. A sluggish start to the evening became too much for the Norse to overcome as they fell in three straight sets to Lake Michigan College (28-11, 10-2) by scores of 25-8, 25-17, and 25-20.

Two Upper Peninsula colleges are advancing in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason tournament, while one is headed to the offseason. The top seeded Ferris State Bulldogs bumped out Lake Superior State in straight sets 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.
