Since this is our first year of operation, the stories only go back til May, but still provides a public with a selection of stories impacting the area. Despite flooding in Au Train, high wind gusts and numerous cars in the ditch, there were no reported injuries or fatalities during the Christmas blizzard, according to the Alger County Sheriff’s Office.

An Alger County judge has dismissed six of eight parts of Dr. Chelsea Ray’s wrongful termination lawsuit against Munising Memorial Hospital Association after a written opinion was issued Thursday, Dec. 22. The doctor was publicly terminated from the hospital in April of 2021.

The Chatham Ski Hill will be opening later than expected due to a case of COVID with hill personnel. The illness was tracked to the Rock River Township meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 20, so those in attendance are asked to monitor for potential contraction of COVID. The new opening date is set for Saturday, Dec. 31.
