The annual Winter Library Used Book “Sale” is in progress and will continue through Dec. 30 in the library meeting room. On Monday, Dec. 19 at approximately 9 p.m., a 9-1-1 call was received at the Alger County Sheriff’s Office reporting a snowmobile accident on Trail #7, approximately one mile north of the Buckhorn Road in AuTrain Township. It was determined that the victim was transported from the scene of the accident to her residence on S. Lost Lake Road. Upon arrival, all responding units attempted life-saving measures however, the victim died at the scene of the call.

The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing a concessions Prospectus on December 21, 2022, for a concession contract to provide interpretive boat tours and associated services within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Both Munising Public Schools and Superior Central Schools headed to their holiday breaks a little early this year. The schools decided to adjourn early due to illness amongst staff and students. Both districts will lose just two days of education.

A motion unanimously approved by the Rock River Township Board has started the clock on certain restrictions for short term rentals in the municipality. Trustee Trevor Case made a motion at the regular township meeting on Tuesday, Dec.
