Sharing an extra prosecutor makes sense

By Brice Burge We have problems with methamphetamine like everywhere else in the Midwest right now, so it’s time to have a serious talk about the dangers of the drug. The problem is that conversation can go in dozens of directions, ranging from preventing the creation of the drug, what to do if someone is in direct harm from methamphetamine use and how to rehabilitate those looking to get clean fairly.

Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. the Munising Library will host an informative talk by the Alzheimer’s Association entitled Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Join us to learn the difference between the two conditions, the various stages and risk factors, and all of the programs that the Alzheimer’s Associations has to offer those afflicted and affected. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

The Diocesan Eucharistic Congress was a privileged time of grace for those in attendance. We gave thanks to the Lord for the blessing that he gave us, especially the gift of the Most Holy Eucharist. We celebrated Mass, the source and summit of our life. There were prayerful Eucharistic processions, inspiring speakers and good fellowship. Many spoke to me at the Congress and shared how meaningful it was and expressed thanks for the Congress. I hope and pray that graces of the Congress bear fruit in our diocese for many years to come.

Doctor, why?: How do you use a TENS unit?

Q: I’ve been having intermittent pain on the outer hip area for several weeks, worse when I’m walking up even a gradual slope or on a level surface. I was telling a friend about it and he suggested I buy a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) unit, which can be obtained without a prescription; it arrived in the mail a few days ago, but the instructions that came with it are very brief and not very useful.
