On August 24, U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney in Kalamazoo approved an agreement among four indigenous tribes, federal regulators, and the state of Michigan, establishing fishing regulations for portions of the upper Great Lakes. This accord, which allocates fishing privileges across Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Superior, extends a preexisting regulatory structure that had been in deliberation since its lapse in 2020, now spanning the next 24 years.

Many, many households in the United States have at least one pet. It has been recently estimated that approximately 65 million homes have a dog in the USA today, and there are about 47 million USA homes that have a cat as a pet.

Words on print. It’s what we have been trying to do since the conception of The Munising Beacon. We have spent over a year on social media and producing digital copies to get to this point. But with this edition, that goal of words on print has come to fruition.
