Do you want to do your part to brighten a child’s holiday? Give the Gift of Reading! The library is collecting new children and teen books now until Dec. 6 for distribution to those in need this holiday season. You can bring your books to the Munising Library to place in the designated gift box.

The stretch of bad luck continues for hunters in the U.P. as the deer harvest remains down across the eastern Upper Peninsula.

The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University has received an $8,500 grant from Michigan Humanities to create a traveling exhibition titled Extraordinary Women of the Upper Peninsula. The exhibition will feature women from the U.P.’s 15 counties who have had a regional, national or international impact through their work in politics, science, international relations, Native American rights, literature and other fields.

Chief Growth Officer Hilary Doe and the Growing Michigan Together team released a report this week that compiles and analyzes feedback from over 11,000 Michiganders that will be used to create the most robust population growth strategy in Michigan’s history.
