New Scholarship Established in Memory of Mather High School Graduate

A new college scholarship will be available beginning this year from the Alger Regional Community Foundation. The scholarship is in memory of Barbara (Golenda) Forsberg who graduated from Mather High School in 1949. Seniors at Munising, Superior Central or Burt Township Schools planning to pursue a higher education degree in the Arts, Education or Music are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. Barbara was born in Munising as the daughter of Beatrice (Beaudette) and David Golenda. She was the sister of Gene and Richard Golenda who also attended Mather High School.
