Munising Native & Shipwreck Tours Founder, Pete Lindquist, Receives Award from the Coast Guard
Portland, OR January 27, 2024 Munising Bay Shipwreck Tours is pleased to announce that its founder and president, Peter Lindquist, has been honored with the Roger Murphy National Marine Safety Award from the Passenger Vessel Association (PVA).

On Thursday, February 1, a group of enthusiastic women joined foresters Sara Kelso (Alger Conservation District) and Anna Ellis (Michigan State University Extension) for a guided hike on snowshoes just outside of Munising at Valley Spur. Despite the unseasonably warm temperatures, spirits were high and the trail was in great condition. The loop hiked had a lot of rolling hills and twists and turns which led us through many different forest types and was suitable for all levels of snowshoeing experience.

MUNISING - In a disappointing turn of events, the Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association (UP200) announced the cancellation of the highly anticipated UP200, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30 sled dog races originally scheduled for February 16-18, 2024. The decision was made due to deteriorating trail conditions and concerns for the safety of mushers and their canine companions.
