Getting out to enjoy the weather! Mrs. Miles 7th grade science class did a River Crossing Activity that requires the students to use teamwork to get the entire class “across the river” with each person having to always touch a piece of paper.

Way back in 2002, Paul Jacobson was in his third year as head football coach at Negaunee High School. His Miners faced a 28-6 deficit against Whittemore-Prescott in the third quarter of the Division 6 state semi-final game at the Superior Dome.

Hosting Crystal Falls Forest Park in a pair of Skyline Central Conference games, the Superior Central softball team was hoping to keep their hot streak going. The Lady Cougars were able to do just that early on, winning game one 13-5, but they cooled off in game two, falling 11-6.

Munising softball tames Stephenson to get first wins

Playing in their home opener on Heroes Field on Monday, the Munising softball team picked a perfect time to have some of their best play of the season. On a pleasant early spring evening they defeated visiting Stephenson in both games, 17-12 and 19-4; their first wins of the season and their first home victories since 2021.

The Munising golf team sent their girls for a best ball match at Gladstone on Thursday, May 2. Of the seven teams at the event, the Lady Mustangs were able to place fifth. Marquette took first place with a team core of 280 while Munising had a 392.

Yoopers fare well at Forensics state finals

During the weekend of May 3, 2024 Kellogg Community College hosted the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association State Final event where students from across the state competed, individually and in teams, in speech, theater and debate. With 447 entries the tournament brought together at least 556 competitors from 43 schools in the school classifications of BCD.
