Zach Boucher, the Operations Manager at Pictured Rocks Cruises, noted the significant uptick in demand, particularly during the pandemic.

Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress (UPCAP) Dementia Caregiving Series, a three-part online program designed for caregivers of people with dementia, will be held on Thursdays, July 25, and August 1 and 8, 2024, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm (EST) via Zoom. Participants will learn basic information about dementia and its impact on brain function, how to communicate more effectively with someone who has dementia, recognize stages of dementia, how to provide meaningful daily activities based on the interests and abilities of the person with dementia, how to better understand and address dementia related behaviors, and learn strategies and benefits of self-care.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services As the year-long post-pandemic Medicaid redetermination process draws to a close, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced it renewed Medicaid and Healthy Michigan Plan coverage for an additional 141,992 people whose eligibility was up for renewal in May. More than 1.8 million beneficiaries have renewed their insurance coverage during the process, bringing the total Medicaid enrollment to 2.6 million.

On May 8, while the team was playing in the Big Bay de Noc Invitational at the Garden Golf Course, he had the shot of his life; getting a hole in one the par four fifth hole.

Great American Outdoors Act Funds Improvements on Grand Island

The Hiawatha National Forest is pleased to share that the Grand Island Staircase Replacement Project is underway as part of the Great American Outdoors Act. On June 10, contractors began the process of removing two staircases and replacing another near beaches on the island.
