Dianne Fleck, age 74, of Munising, died following a brief illness on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024 under the loving care of Fred, her family, and North Woods Hospice. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Michael Ocran on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Munising.

Jacquelyn Hargis

Jacquelyn Hargis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on April 5, 1936, Jacquelyn lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication to her family and passions. Jacquelyn is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Duane, who was the love of her life. Their bond was a testament to true love and companionship. Together, they raised five wonderful children: Ellen (David Douglass) Hargis, Julie (David) Landry (née Hargis), Elaine Winters (née Hargis), Michael (Jenny) Hargis, and Scott Hargis. Jacquelyn’s legacy continues through her seven grandsons, one great-grandson, and one soon-to-be-welcomed great-granddaughter. A fantastic homemaker, Jacquelyn took excellent care of her family and home. She was a fabulous cook, with a passion for culinary arts. A huge fan of Julia Child, she proudly owned a signed cookbook from the renowned chef. Her cooking skills were the highlight of many family gatherings and dinner parties.

The 2024 Pictured Rocks Golf Course 2-Woman Scramble features 96 golfers forming 48 teams in a 3-par, 2-woman scramble format. This event has been running for at least 15 years, offering participants a day filled with excitement and camaraderie. Before the tournament begins, breakfast is provided, setting the stage for a day of competition. Additionally, a raffle is held, giving attendees the chance to win delightful gift baskets.
