Munising tames Gogebic for 3-0 start to season
Munising’s fast start to the 8-player football season continued on Friday. The Mustangs were hosting Gogebic for a non-conference game and managed to take a two possession lead after the first quarter, never looking back on their way to a 3818 victory, though things weren’t exactly perfect.

The wins keep coming for the Superior Central football team. The Cougars played a road game at Rock Mid-Pen against their varsity squad on Thursday, September 12, and rolled to a 70-16 victory.

The Munising tennis team took part in a match at Norway on Monday, September 9. The Lady Mustangs came up just short, 5-3. They also competed at Ishpeming Westwood on Thursday, dropping that match 8-0.

There is a new look for the All-Veterans Memorial at the Munising City Park! Since dressing up the memorial with a new outside fence a couple of years ago, some of the members of Vietnam Veterans of Alger County Chapter 237 felt the centerpiece should be more attractive. With the agreement of all of the members, funds were transferred to the All-Veterans Memorial for this project which culminated on September 11, 2024, with the installation of a new wrap-around fountain centerpiece. This wrap includes all of the different service insignias and was installed on the anniversary of 9/11 by the designers, Icon Signs out of Ishpeming, Michigan.
