The Northern Lights League announced last week its 2024 Volleyball All-Conference Teams. All-conference selections are made by the coaches of each team in the NLL. Two Munising Baptist players received honorable mention.

The Northern Lights League announced its 2024 Soccer All-Conference Team last week, and three Munising Baptist players earned a place on the list. In addition, three more Munising Baptist Bobcats earned honorable mention.

Playing on its home court for the final time this season, the Superior Central volleyball team was able to pick up a four-set win. The Cougars defeated Big Bay de Noc on Oct. 24 with scores of 1825, 25-23, 26-24 and 25-23.

With postseason action looming, Munising was hoping to play some its best volleyball of the year last week. The Mustangs did exactly that, getting home wins over Rapid River on Oct. 22 and Stephenson on Oct. 24.

Way back in August, Munising head football coach Matt Mattson wasn’t quite sure what to make of his team. He knew there was talent, but he also wasn’t sure how that would translate to the field on Friday nights.
