What should I do after a transient ischemic attack?

Q: I am 93 years old and, four days ago at 4 a.m., I woke up in the morning lying on the floor next to my side of the bed, not knowing how I had gotten there. I also noticed I seemed very weak, especially on my right side, and when my wife came to check on me, I couldn’t speak intelligibly. She wanted to call an ambulance, but I was beginning to feel somewhat stronger and I was able to say “no” several times.

Patricia “Pat” Marie Morrison

Patricia “Pat” Marie Morrison, age 88, of Munising died following a brief and unexpected illness at her home early Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 2025, under the loving care of family and North Woods Hospice. She was born on Jan. 19, 1937, in Munising to Karl and Leonella (Montcalm) Larson. Pat married Robert “Bud” Morrison on June 9, 1956, and together they raised their three children. Pat worked as a secretary in a legal office and then at the WQXO radio station, Lakeshore Ford, Mazzali Agency and then the Forest Service. Pat enjoyed bowling, belly dancing, golfing and taking trips to the casino. She grew beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and she loved to bird watch. Pat was also a voracious reader with Clive Cussler being her favorite.

Arlene G. Goodburn

Arlene G. (nee Nesberg) Goodburn, age 88, of Munising died unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, Feb. 7, 2025, at the Munising Memorial Hospital. She was born in Munising on March 22, 1936, to Henry and Anna (Moe) Nesberg. Arlene graduated from William G. Mather High School in 1954 and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Augustana College in Moline, Illinois. She worked, and, while in Moline, met Paul Goodburn. Arlene and Paul were married on Sept. 3, 1967. His career moved them around the country, and together they raised their three sons. After retirement, they moved from Pittsburgh back to Arlene’s hometown of Munising. She was a member of the Eden Lutheran Church. Arlene enjoyed antiquing (especially Munising Wooden Ware) and working crossword puzzles. Organizing was a special skill, and she loved to read.
