Lucas Swetich center signed his National Letter of Intent with the Culver-Stockton Wildcats at the Superior Central school library on Thursday, Feb. 2. Swetich, joined by his parents Luke and Bambi and his siblings Austin and Lily, is the first SC Cougar to sign and play for a college since Kyle Frusti in 2019. He said that he chose the 160-year-old college in Canton, Mo., for both the academic and NAIA athletic opportunities. “I’m just proud really,” Swetich said. “Coming from a small school, people don’t think you can make that step and play at the next level, but if you focus and try hard, you can go out and do whatever you want to.” Brice Burge
