Home News LAST WEEK IN ALGER CO LAST WEEK IN ALGER COJuly 19, 2024News Whitney Thorn Four years ago Bill and Judi Rousseau saw a need for young people to be introduced to golf, leading them to run the Pictured Rocks Golf Course Youth Golf Program. The goal of the program is to teach youth that “Golf is the game of a lifetime” that can be played by people of all ages. This year the program, which takes place on eight Mondays during the summer break, has 23 volunteer coaches, 6 volunteer support staff and 85 participants, with about 50 attending each week. Bill Rousseau is passionate about the program, saying that “Golf teaches rules and many life skills, including being ladies and gentlemen” and that after five weeks the participants have improved in all aspects of golf, including manners.
