Letter to the Editor Policy

The Munising Beacon, in supporting the access and application of the First Amendment Right to the Press, actively encourages citizens to write letters to the editor. Due to space, readers will be allotted one letter to the editor per month and limited to 400 words or less. Letters can be submitted through U.S.

Letter To The Editor:

It is remarkable that when we say the Lord’s Prayer (“Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name….) that we include asking our Lord to “lead us not into temptation”. It recognizes that if we are being led by someone who we trust and are loyal to, that we are susceptible to being led into temptation.

MSU has strong calving season

It’s calving season at the Michigan State University Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center Farm in Chatham, with roughly 60 infant cows around the fields. According to Farm Manager Paul Naasz, the calving season is going well.

As fallout continues to impact Alger County after North Country Disposal pulled its recycling services, a new concern is challenging local business owners regarding responsible waste removal. Commercial recycling is at a complete standstill in Alger County as businesses have no way to get recyclable materials from their locations to transfer stations.
