What began as a looming crisis for the Valley Spur cross-country ski trails near Munising has blossomed into a heartwarming success story, thanks to a groundswell of support from the community and beyond.

Growing up in Munising, Mike and Jeff Dausey experienced the kind of childhood only the Upper Peninsula can offer — adventuring through endless forests, discovering hidden waterfalls and learning the value of hard work from an early age.

Born Nov. 13, 2024, Daniel James Boucher arrived weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. Known to his family as “Danny” or “Handsome Dan,” he came into the world with an angel kiss birthmark on his nose and a heart full of love.

Winter has arrived in full force, and for those of us who’ve been snow dancing — we did it! Munising is a winter wonderland, and we couldn’t feel luckier. The fresh snow isn’t just beautiful; it’s an open invitation to bundle up and explore all the magic our hometown has to offer.
