Winter parking ban in effect The City of Munising’s winter parking ban started on Tuesday, Nov. 15 and will run through April 15 based on snow plowing needs.The ban prevents vehicles from being parked on any city street between 3 a.m.-6 a.m.

Sadowski found guilty in first degree

After a three-year wait and an 11day jury trial, Jason David Sadowski was found guilty of murder in the first degree on Monday, November 7.The victim wasTimothy Mozader, Sadowski’s tenant and roommate. Mozader died on May 30, 2019.

Upper Peninsula woman named to Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame

Mary Locke Petermann, a pioneer in cancer treatment research and development, was named to the 2022 Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame. Petermann was born in Laurium in the Copper Country and attended Calumet High School before studying at Brown University and receiving a Ph.D in physiological chemistry from the University of Wisconsin.
