Seniors set a positive year: Painting a pleasant parking lot
Munising High School Seniors, the upcoming 2025 graduates, wanted to paint a whole new attitude to distinguish themselves from past groups of grads. Even well before school began, the group could be seen online promoting positive messages like looking forward to sunrises instead of sunsets. As part of their positivity, each senior was given the opportunity to paint a parking spot.

Mark your calendar for next Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6:00 p.m. when Bill Jamerson will bring his program Boys of Winter – Ski Jumpers of the Upper Peninsula to the Munising Library. Jamerson, a musical historian, will tell stories and perform songs based on interviews with ski jumpers of the bygone era. This is a family friendly event for anyone with an interest in U.P. history. The Munising community came together once again to support the Flame of Hope, a pivotal event aimed at raising awareness for Special Olympics athletes. Organized by Carl White, a retired Captain and Michigan LETR Executive Council member, and his wife Carla, the local Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) was held on September 25, 2024, and saw 14 participants either walk or run a 5k, beginning and ending at the East Channel Brewery, located in the heart of downtown Munising. Participants followed a scenic route that showcased the natural beauty of the area, while bringing attention to an important cause.
