Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is seeking public comment regarding Miners Falls Viewing Platforms and Steps Replacement Environmental Assessment. The purpose of this project is to provide safe public access to the Miners River and base of Miners Falls, while reducing impacts to the natural environment.

Timber harvests are an important part of Michigan’s $26 billion forest products economy. Michigan’s forest products industry has hit a new peak, adding $26.5 billion to Michigan’s economy, according to new data released by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Alger County youth attend UP-wide 4-H Summer Camp at Clear Lake

15 Alger County 4-H’ers joined 65 youth total, ages 9-13, from across the Upper Peninsula at the Clear Lake Education Center nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest to participate in UP 4-H Summer Camp at Clear Lake on July 9th-11th.
