Community members were welcomed by Abby Wallace, of Michigan Environmental Council, to the presentation Green Bank Energy Financing on Tuesday, 2/27 at the Gallery Coffee Co. This community education seminar was cohosted by the Michigan Environmental Council and Alger County Renewable Energy Solutions (ACRES). Tuesday’s event was held to provide information and options on financing renewable energy projects for the home and business.

There have been a few changes here at the library! We were approved for a grant through AC3 and we now have new furniture! If you haven’t seen it yet stop by and take a peek! A fresh new look just in time for spring!

Intuition (aka that “gut feeling”) is something we are all blessed with. The trouble is that most of us do not know how to recognize our intuition or to hear what it is trying to tell us. Intuition is defined as, “immediate knowing without reasoning or inferring”; it is the ability to understand something without conscious reasoning. People often describe the sensation of intuition as “pit of stomach feeling”, or “light bulb moment”, where you have a random idea/impulse out of nowhere.

Q: I am 74 years old, have arthritis in my knees and spine, and the last time I saw my doctor, she talked about switching my medication from Vicodin (combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen) to something called an NSAID. Aside from some constipation, the Vicodin seems to be working well so far; why the proposed change?
