Grand Island Township leadership is officially drawing the line in the sand on whether or not the area’s smallest municipality will continue to exist. At the township’s regular board meeting on September 12, the board decided that they will hold one last special meeting on Monday, September 25 in the hopes of finding a new township clerk and find other people willing to hold office after the November 2024 election.

The Munising City Commission approved two ordinances on Monday, Sept. 18 that will have direct impacts on local water and garbage pick up.

AC3 Barn Dance Saturday Alger County Communities That Care (AC3) will host a barn dance at the MSU North Farm barn on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 4-8 p.m.. The event will include square dancing, a pie and cake auction, cornhole tournament, children’s events and more. The event is free to the public.
