100 Years Ago - The Munising News - Oct. 26, 1923 Locals push for seasonal properties CC Peck, proprietor of the McDougall Tire Shop, has issued an illustrated circular calling attention to summer resort advantages of Munising and vicinage and offering for sale sites for summer cottages and hunting lodges. The same will be given a wide distribution and is another stroke of business in the right direction. Every piece of mail leaving Munising should carry a leaflet with a message along the same line. It would pay big dividends.

Making the most of a low hay yield

The dry weather has left most livestock producers in the Midwest scrambling for more hay. First cutting hay yields were down in many areas of Michigan, and if the dry weather continues, total hay yields for the year could be less than 50 percent of normal production. To feed ruminant animals such as beef cattle, sheep and others through the winter season, many livestock farmers are looking for ways to stretch their feed resources.
