The Munising Mustang boys golf team was the best of the best at the Skyline Central Conference meet at Sage Run on Tuesday, May 23. The Mustangs put up a combined 352 for their four scoring golfers, beating out Mid Pen by 11 strokes.

On May 3, a Manistique tribal drumming circle traveled with a grandfather drum to honor Munising High School. An assembly was held to receive a tribal flag.

After a solid 2022-23 competitive cheer season, the Munising Mustangs have more to celebrate as the All District and All Region teams have been announced. Receiving the highest accolade was Hayden Graves, who made the All Region Second Team.

As donations and fundraisers occur across the region, touching moments have showed the humanity and the support to the Weaver Family. While local examples make us proud, showcasing the dozens of other offerings of support is crucial in understanding the totality of regional resiliency and love. As of publication, each pin represents at least one fundraiser event, business providing proceeds or school to show their support.

We are pleased to announce that Braylin Calhoun is our Student of the Week. Braylin is a fifth grader and the son of Emily Cook and Isiah Calhoun. Braylin is a wonderful leader both inside the classroom and out. He is a caring individual and will help anyone without being asked to do so. Braylin’s favorite subject is Math, especially using the basketball hoop as a learning tool in Mrs. Johnson’s room to help him stay focused. He loves playing football and basketball as well as spending time with his friends. Congratulations to Braylin and his family!
