Cougars’core remains young

Injuries to key players derailed what had been a promising season for the Superior Central girls basketball team last winter. The Cougars lost Alice Hancock and Sammy Johnson for much of the season, a duo that combined to average 30 points and grab 15 rebounds a game.

Munising opens with victory

It was a winning start to the season for the Munising boys basketball team. On Nov. 26, the Mustangs made the trip to Norway for the season opener for both teams, and Munising used a 24-point night from Trevor Nolan to lead the way to a 50-34 victory.

Munising runners earn recognition for their achievements in the fall

The Munising cross country team gathered recently for its annual end-of-season banquet, a night dedicated to celebrating the athletes’ hard work, dedication and accomplishments throughout the season. The event, attended by athletes, families and coaches, highlighted individual and team achievements while honoring the seniors who have led the program with passion and determination.
