Immel, Miller, Fischer trio wins Father’s Day Tournament

The trio of Dale Immel, Blake Miller and Ryan Fischer played strong all weekend to win the 2023 Father’s Day Scramble Starting strong, the trio led from the first hole and was the first-day leaders with 60, holding a onestroke lead over the teams of Baij, Baij and Ake and former champions Mahoski, Mannisto and Tweedale. Sunday’s round saw more good shots for the eventual champions, as they were one of only three of the 84 total teams on the day to not register a fiveshot hole.

Knights knock out Cougars

The Superior Central softball season came to a close with a 17-2 loss to the Norway Knights in the opening round of the MHSAA Regionals on Saturday, June 10 in Bark River Harris. SC Head Coach Rich Swajanen said that the SCC champion Knights were able to capitalize on errors from SC.

SC track and field ends at finals

The Superior Central track and field teams concluded their seasons at the MHSAA U.P. Division 3 finals on Saturday, June 3 in Kingsford, with the boys team finishing 17th and the girls finishing 16th of the over 30 schools in the field. It was the first time since 2018 that both boys and girls teams scored points at the finals.
