Friday’s home game with Ishpeming was looked at as one of the Munising boys basketball team’s biggest tests of the regular season. The Mustangs were able to outlast the Hematites, passing that test with a 57-49 victory.
It might not have been its prettiest win of the year, but the Munising girls basketball team kept its unblemished record intact on Jan. 22. Playing at Superior Central, the Mustangs survived a low-scoring first half to win 43-23 and move to 11-0 on the year.
At halftime of their home boys basketball game with Carney-Nadeau, Superior Central held a three-point lead. SC head coach Adam Ely felt his team could play even better in the second half, and they did just that, pulling away to earn a 48-38 victory.
