For the last two years, her Rustic Grounds Coffee Company has made a significant difference in the lives of many veterans in the Upper Peninsula. Each year, she sets aside a day in the summer just for veterans and donates that day’s profit to the Honor Flight out of Escanaba, Michigan. Donations from the community and businesses support all honor flights. Veterans are honored with a visit to Washington, DC, in the spring and fall. It doesn’t matter if a veteran is in a wheelchair or not. Each is assured he will see all the memorials. Most get the welcome home that wasn’t there on their return.
