Get ready to move and groove! In this snapshot from June 1950, we see the Mather High School pit. The scene captures a moment from the school’s Mather Golden Anniversary Balloon Dance, a special event celebrating 50 remarkable years. Alumni and friends gathered here to dance the night away under the glow of balloons, music and laughter. The pit was constructed in 1929 and is still in use at Mather Elementary today.
