Bear hunting season continues in U.P.September 29, 2023Outdoors It is the halfway point of the Upper Peninsula bear hunting season, with a number of successful hunts in the Northern Schoolcraft and Eastern Alger County areas this year. That includes this 410-pound bear shot by first-time bear hunter Stephen Young near Seney. Mater’s Stop-N-Go keeps a digital bear pole on it’s Facebook page for successful hunts in the area, with 53 bears already on the record. Bear hunting season goes until Thursday, October 26.
