The Munising Middle and High School Drama Club will present “Zombie Movie”, a fun performance that is bound to keep you laughing and confused.
The chaos will unfold Thursday, Feb. 26 and Tuesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. in the Mather Auditorium. Admission to the performances is by donation.
Follow along as a group of actors attempt to stage a zombie film story, until unexpected twists and undead antics take over. What begins as a typical performance turns into a series of mix-ups as the actors encounter problems and misunderstandings, and zombie mayhem unfolds around them. The performance is meant to be light-hearted, entertaining and to keep the audience focused on what is going wrong.
The students in the drama club have been practicing their lines for weeks, but to them it is more than just putting on an enjoyable performance.
Drama club president, Keira Albright, the impact goes beyond the stage. Drama club is meaningful for students because it is “really just so much fun for everybody involved,” and it helps bring out each student’s personality. She added that it “really brings shy people out,” giving students the confidence to express themselves in ways they might not otherwise.
Sophomore class representative Brynnlee Meyer said she has seen the club grow throughout the years she has participated. “Drama is really just an amazing program to be in,” Meyer said. She added that it’s an amazing thing to see people grow in their acting and confidence, and that she feels she has grown through her own involvement as well.
