The Munising Baptist boys basketball team made it to the second round of the Northern Lights League tournament on Friday. The Bobcats were taking on Big Bay de Noc in a game held at Hannahville, where they saw their time in the tournament end with a 65-59 setback.
With all that was going on, there might have been some distractions for the Superior Central boys basketball team in their home game with Munising Baptist on Feb. 10. The Cougars, though, were able to get the job done in the non-conference meeting, claiming a 62-43 victory.
The Munising boys basketball team remained red hot last week, adding two more victories. At North Central last Friday, the Mustangs posted a 54-29 win to push their winning streak to 11 games.
The injury bug that seemingly plagued the Superior Central girls basketball team last season unfortunately stuck again. The Cougars, playing without the injured Sammy Johnson, fell 41-22 at home last Friday to Bark River- Harris.
The Superior Central boys basketball team began a stretch of three games in four days at home on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The Cougars were able to defeat Rapid River in this contest, 33-28.
Stacking wins on top of wins made the Munising girls basketball team look nearly unbeatable at times this winter. The eighthranked Mustangs, who opened the season with 14 straight wins, finally met their match on Feb. 6, when they dropped a road game at North Dickinson, 47-38.
